Prof. Inoue was adopted to the Area-Cultivation Program for the Advanced Cutting-Edge Humanities and Social Sciences Research, carried by Japan Society for the Promotion of Science.
This program is aimed for further promotion of humanities and social sciences by conducting interdisciplinary research, social contribution, international joint research and so forth. This program will be conducted for 3 years.

Prof. Inoue’s is strong in his interdisciplinary researches, but ate the same time, is hardly recognized as “legitimate” by any fields when it comes to research expense. However, this program puts most emphasis on interdiscipline, hence he was adopted.

Prof. Inoue was glad to be adopted since it is only once in 3 years that Japan Society for the Promotion of Science funds research, and the number of adopted researchers are often small.
